FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
Range - 5-in. A-scope; 4, 20, 80, 400 mi; step
expansion is provided except on 400 mi
Radar Equipments SR-3, -3a, -3b, and -3c are
sweep
shipboard equipments that operate within the L-band
Bearing - Relative and true
1250 to 1350 mc. They are capable of detecting surface
Other - A monitor A-scope is provided on 20-
craft and aircraft at long range. They will supply video
mi and 80-mi ranges; provision is made
and sweep trigger voltages for type A and PPI scopes,
as well as one-speed bearing data for PPI use.
Antenna 66AMD:
Provision has been made for operating one master PPI
Reflector - V-shaped, stainless steel wave-
and two remote PPI's of the VE or VJ type. The antenna
guide 210 in. long
can be operated either automatically or manually. These
Feed - Waveguide and dipole
equipments include their own echo box, which has a
Horizontal Beam Width - 4 deg
directional coupler and slotted-line assembly. Provision
Vertical Beam Width - 30 deg
These equipments are similar except for the types of
Gain - 24 db
antenna used.
Rotation - 360 deg at 2.5 and 5.0 rpm, auto-
matic or manual
RELATION TO SIMILAR EQUIPMENT
Reflector - Slotted parabolic
Feed - Horn-fed
The SR-3 series radars are similar to the SR-6 series
Horizontal Beam Width - 3.5 deg
and theAN/SPS-6 series. Many of the components are
Vertical Beam Width - 10 deg
interchangeable.
SWR- 1.1 to 1.0
Reflector - Slotted parabolic
